I cannot unsee that Watashi and Ozu (Tatami Galaxy) are Dib and Zim (Invader Zim).

<sub>For fans of IZ who have never seen TG: Imagine if the entirety of Invader Zim was told from Dib's side instead of Zim's, that they actually met at college instead of at Skool, and that Dib were pursuing the dream college life instead of paranormal studies.

For fans of TG who have never seen IZ: Imagine if the entirety of Tatami Galaxy was seen through Ozu's eyes, that Ozu were in actuality an alien of another race hell-bent on destroying the world, and that Watashi were pursuing a life of paranormal studies instead of the rose-colored campus life.</sub>

The kanji, 四畳半 玄妙秘奥 (4 1/2 Tatami Mysterious Mysteries), is a play on 四畳半 神話大系 (4 1/2 Tatami Mythological Chronicles), and the Paranormal show that Dib is an avid fan of (Mysterious Mysteries).
